I am collecting plants from 5 years old, and seeing so many unusual plants all over the world.
Some are famous and others are not so famous, like Titan arum, which blooms 3 meter stinky flowers (looks one flower but actually this is collective body of flowers )!!! But we can’t grow it at home and bit too smelly everyday.…
Today, I will show you some of my collection which is perfect for growing at home.
Polka dot plants
Did I painted?! No way!! It naturally has such a beautiful dot all over the leaves. This is Begonia maculata, aka Polka-dot begonia, indoor plants possible to be grown in limited light conditions. New leaves are pinkish colour and extremely beautiful with dotty print on it.
Did someone made steps by leave cuttings? No, this is Haworthia truncata. Very rare these days and I was selling as £10 a few years ago without notice. But now it is becoming a few hundred pounds because it grows so slowly. The surface is flat and transparent. So unusual!!
Rhipsalis Cereuscula is one of my favorite plants, blooming in the early spring like this season. I cannot see these enchanted flowers every year. it seems flowering when i left them in severe condition like not giving water for a few week by accident. Leaves are like corals, that I admire as well. It can be grown in limited lighting as they grow in the tropical forest without direct sunlight.
My favorite caudex Elephant Foot!! Dioscorea Elephantipes is the actual name. It grows during the winter and goes to sleep in summer time. The leaves are lovely heart shapes and its shoots reach to the ceiling of my sunroom!!
The very last one is baby toe plants, so fragile and cute!! There are a few very close species and mine is Fenestraria aurantiaca. i love touching the smooth surface of this plants and enjoying the lovely cream orange flowers every autumn. Relatively difficult specie to keep it happy, but you will be very professional if you can keep them well at home!
I still have many plants to show you, but finish writing here today. I am hoping to provide all these species in my shop within a few years!!
