It is always hard to keep a healthy plant during the winter time. There are many reasons but we can categorise ultimately three things that make plants weak and even sick and die.
1) Low temperature
Temperature is an essential key point. Majority of succulents and other annual flowers cannot survive below freezing point (around 3 to 4 degrees centigrade, 37 to 39 Fahrenheit). Even only one day, plants will die from frostbite.
Simple solutions
A) Bring them inside the room or at least close to the house wall. Usually the temperature is higher around the house than in the middle of the garden.
B) Using bubble wrap around the pot. It is not 100 percent sure to protect your plants as the temperature may drop more than our expectations sometimes, but much better than doing nothing.
C) Using heating devices. I am using it even after bringing the plants inside my home, and plants are doing very well after installation of heating. I usually struggle to grow them in winter time, but many of them enjoy cozy heating from the bottom. Like a luxurious Spa!!! I am jealous sometimes when I have to go out on cold rainy days…
